Elvis Stojko is one
of the most decorated athletes in Canadian History. After winning
his first senior title in 1994, Elvis has never lost a Canadian
Championship, in which he competed. Elvis was named
the sole recipient of the 1998 Governor General's Meritorious
Service Cross for outstanding service to Canada, in recognition
of his
extraordinary efforts during the 1998
Olympic Winter Games despite a serious groin injury.
Elvis made the record books in figure skating by:
- Landing the first quadruple jump in combination (1991 World
Championships)
- Landing the first quadruple combination
at the Canadian National Championships (1996)
- Landing the first quad-triple combination in competition
(1997 Champions Series Final)
- Landing the first quad-triple
combination at a World

(1997 World Championships).
Elvis had planned to make a return to competitive skating
in the 2003/2004 season, but had to reconsider. He will be
touring professionally, and assisting young Canadian skaters.
